In this article, we'll show you how to create single products using a template. If you want to create product families, you can read the article Adding product families in bulk.

Required fields

The template we provide is solely and exclusively intended for creating unique products. This template cannot be used for the creation of products that contain variants. The fields below are those required to create single products. Fields that don't appear in this list can be ignored and left blank, as they aren't necessary for creating this type of product.

You'll also find required and optional fields. Not completing required fields may result in errors. Optional fields can be left blank if you don't have the information.

Column

What is it?

Requirement

Instructions

SKU

Internal alphanumeric code used to identify products.

Required

This code must be unique among your products. If you don't have any product codes, you'll need to create codes in your file.

Barcodes

Product identifier according to the manufacturer. Unique identifier according to EAN-13 standard.

Optional

Enter the product barcode. If the product doesn't have a barcode, do not enter it.

Name

Word or series of words that will serve as the product’s title.

Required

The name shouldn't contain the brand name or the product format. Only use capital letters in the first letter of the product name. The name of each variant should be left blank, as it will inherit the name of the first product in its family.

Description

Additional product information.

Optional

Don't repeat any information present in other fields. Customers will see the product description when viewing the product in the TrakiTrak.

Brand

Product brand.

Optional

If a product is a private label, the brand field should be left with the same registered word (brand) with an initial capital letter.

Type of sale

Information that indicates how the product is sold.

Required

There are four types of sale.

Select the type of sale that best represents your product.

Per unit:All of these are fixed-price products. For example, canned beverages. In this case, you only need to fill in two columns (Price per unit and Weight per unit). Leave the other columns (Price per kilogram, Price per package, and Weight per package) blank.

By Weight: these are products only sold by Weight, e.g. seeds, nuts,Turkey,etc...

In this case, you only need to fill in a single column (Price per kilogram). Leave the other columns (Price per unit, Weight per unit, Price per package, and Weight per package) blank.

Packaged: These are products that can have variable weights, such as vacuum-sealed meats, whole chicken, watermelon, etc. In these cases, you should only fill in two columns: Price per package and Weight per package (In Grams). Leave the other columns (Price per unit, Weight per unit, and Price per kilogram) blank.

Per Weight & Package : Products that can be sold both individually and by weight, such as avocados, apples, or tomatoes, etc. In this case, you must fill in the following three columns mandatory: Price per kilogram, price per package, and weight per package (in GRAMS). NOTE: Leave the two columns, Price per unit, and Weight per unit, blank.

By Unit & Weight(Weight): Products that can be sold both individually and by weight, for example, a tray of strawberries that is also sold in bulk by kilogram. In these cases, you should only fill in three columns: Price per unit, Weight per unit, and Price per kilogram. Leave the other columns (Price per package and Weight per package in Grams) blank.

By Unit & Weight(Package):

Products that can be sold both individually and by package, for example, a bell pepper. In these cases, you should fill in four columns: Price per unit, Weight per unit, Price per package, and Weight per package (in Grams). Leave the remaining column (Price per kilogram) blank.

By Unit & Weight(weight & package):

Products that can be sold both individually and by package, for example, a bell pepper or a tomato. In these cases, you should fill in all 5 columns: Price per unit, Weight per unit, Price per package, Weight per package (in Grams), and Price per kilogram. Do not leave any column blank.

Format

Complementary information about the product's sale format. Customers can view it to get a better idea of what the product looks like.

Required

Please include the net contents and unit of measurement.

Examples:

- 750ml bottle
- 250g tray - 350ml can
- 50 pieces
- 500g
- 10 portions
- Individual portion

The format needs to be product-related data, such as dimensions and weight. Terms like 'unit' and 'box' are incorrect.

If the product is sold by weight, the format should be entered as Bulk (applies to seeds, nuts, etc.).

If a product is sold by weight and by unit, the format should be entered as Bulk (applies to fruits, vegetables, etc). If the product is packaged and sold by variable weight, the format should be entered with its approximate weight per unit, e.g. approx. 1.5kg (applies to vacuum packed meats, cheeses, etc.).

Category

Corresponds to the TrakiTrak section or aisle where the product should be located.

Required

Keep in mind that customers will see your product in this category, so it's important to select the category that best relates to your product.

You can't add new categories, and this section of the document can't be edited. If you're working in Excel, all categories will be displayed there. Find the corresponding category and select it.

Tags

Special features of certain products, used to help Shoppers.

Optional

There are four tags you can use. You can add multiple tags by separating them with semicolons ;.

Frozen

These are frozen products. Shoppers will receive an in-app notification reminding them to take extra care with these types of products to make sure they're packed together and kept cold.

Alcohol

These are products that contain alcohol. When these products are ordered, Shoppers must request proof of ID during delivery to confirm that the person receiving the products is of legal drinking age.

Fragile

These are fragile products, e.g. cakes or glass products. Whenever these products are ordered, the Shopper will be notified and take extra care during transport.

Tobacco

These are products that contain nicotine. When these products are ordered, Shoppers must request identification during delivery to confirm that the person receiving the products is of legal age to purchase them.

It corresponds to the most commercial, eye-catching, and attractive products. They will also be used as a reference within Trakitrak to differentiate the location of the products in the aisles.

Optional

Featured products can be marked with (YES) for up to 10 products, designating them as featured. These products will be displayed in the "Featured" section of the application. The selection of featured products should be a combination of available subcategories, such as pasta, rice, oils, etc., belonging to the "Pantry" category. It is recommended to choose 1 or 2 products from each subcategory to give customers an idea of the types of products offered in that category. It is important that the featured products have excellent, eye-catching, and attractive photos. IMPORTANT NOTE: Leaving this checkbox blank will be interpreted by the system as (NO) featured.

Price

Price at which the product will be sold. When creating new products, the prices you set will be applied in all branches.

Required

When entering the price of a product in the app, it should be the same price that customers would find in-store.

If a product is sold in bulk or by weight, the price should be equivalent to 1000g. The system will then calculate the total price so that users can order from 100g and up.

Required

You'll need to have all photos uploaded in a server. In this column, add the URL for each product photo.

For more information, visit the page How to set up your images for mass upload.
